Accelerating your success happens in a number of ways when you participate in a Wisdom Circle. The creative energies that stem from a broad collective of education, experience, and expertise opens the doors to information and resources that might otherwise take you months or years to accomplish. In a program in which I participated a couple of years ago, one young woman had been stuck for months, trying to find a production plant that could manufacture her product at a price point she needed for maximum sales. Another participant had that connection and before the end of the program, she had a $300,000 contract which would not otherwise have happened.
In many cases, the sharing of “systems” that work helps to maximize productivity, freeing the Members of the Wisdom Circle to spend more time on their current project. In other instances, just the free flow of creativity helps open the doors to new ideas.
One young woman wanted to start a culinary business, but wanted something unique and not requiring a significant start up budget. She also wanted her business to support her desire to support philanthropic programs in her community. After much brainstorming, the idea was born that she would create a culinary business that involved preparing high dollar meals for wealthy business owners who were willing to host dinners with the proceeds going to charitable causes. Her business took off in a hurry, with very little in the way of start up costs, and she is thriving, while meeting her personal goal of being a local philanthropist!
Personal Accountability
We are often our worst enemy when it comes to getting in our own way and failing to follow through on the things that might mean the most to our being successful. Using the support of the Members of a Wisdom Circle, you gain focus and power by discussing your goals and dreams… focus and power that re-enforces your commitment to accomplish them by being held accountable to the Members with whom you share your deepest desires.
Transformed Thinking
You have the opportunity to transform many areas of your thinking while working with other Members of a Wisdom Circle. You become much more receptive to thinking outside the box and embracing new ideas. Ideas that might previously have turned your fear up to a new level take on more credibility and your fear is replaced with hope, focus and direction.
The process of the Wisdom Circle that requires you to sit in silent observation, absorbing information, knowledge and creative energies transforms your ability to hear and to think at a different level. Being in a more peaceful place of hearing about endless possibilities to solutions to problems transforms the process you might normally use to make decisions.
In the end, it is a universal law that you become what you think about and focus on the most. Working within a Wisdom Circle, you soon transform that focus in creating an inspiring “can do” attitude that eventually becomes your norm.
Renewed Enthusiasm and High Energy
When we work in a vacuum, it is easy to get tired, disillusioned and disappointed when the days get long and the cards seemed stacked against us. Working in an alliance of people committed to growing their businesses and improving their lives that can be contagious, you are able to counter that emotional, mental and physical drain by drawing on the positive, creative energies of the Members of the Wisdom Circle.
There may be times when the Members will step up and offer cooperative effort to resolve some thing that is totally blocking you – just to get you past the block, knowing you will reciprocate in kind should they need the favor returned. For example: one Member of a group had moved and simply did not have the time to finish unpacking. The clutter in her home was devastating, draining her energy and using valuable time searching through boxes for important items. Her group surprised her one early Saturday morning… all dressed in work clothes and ready to remove the biggest block to accelerating her success!
Increased Confidence and Self-Esteem
I have a dear friend, and fellow Coach who constantly challenges her clients (and friends) to play a “Bigger Game!” What she knows that many people have yet to grasp is that the only way to increase your confidence and self-esteem is to work through the challenges that come before you. It is that process of realizing that you can and have accomplished something that plants a little seed in your mind that, “If I did that, I can do something more!”
